Arnaud Becheler

Staff Engineer

Arnaud Becheler is a Staff Engineer and C++ consultant with over a decade of experience, holding a PhD in Computational Genetics. With quite an unusual path — from statistical evolutionary biology through academia to modern software engineering — comes an unusual ability to bridge scientific rigour and production-quality C++ design.

He is the author of the Quetzal framework, a suite of open-source C++ libraries providing reusable components for building geospatial population genetics simulators. A Boost enthusiast and active contributor to the C++ community, Arnaud organizes C++ Meetups in Paris and speaks at conferences. He is passionate about modern C++ architecture, policy-based design, applied mathematics, and helping developers from scientific backgrounds write maintainable, testable, and efficient code. Currently, his work at the Alliance is focused on revitalizing the Boost Graph Library and bringing Community Detection Methods to its current algorithms coverage.

Beyond code, Arnaud is a dedicated teacher and community builder: he runs C++ training sessions, writes extensively on his blog, and believes that great software culture and a better world grow when knowledge is shared generously and made accessible to everyone: students, civil society, scientists and engineers alike.
